Mato Uljarević is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural manager. He is the director and initiator of the project Nikšić 2030 – European Capital of Culture, and the Focal Point for Nikšić as a UNESCO Creative City of Music. He is a member of the Artistic Council of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro. He is the founder and editor of the REANIMACIJA Festival of European Animated Film and Illustration.
He creates authorial projects in the fields of visual arts, film, and animation. He is the recipient of the Zlatko Grgić Award at the World Festival of Animated Film ANIMAFEST Zagreb 2025 for his film “Uroš”. He is also the winner of the “Novica Tadić” Award from the Institute for the Study of Cultural Development in Belgrade for his poetry book “Suteren” (2022).
He was the initiator and active participant in the development of the Cultural Development Strategy of the Municipality of Nikšić, as well as a member of the working group for the creation of the National Program for Cultural Development.
