Personal and Professional Experience
Dr. Snežana Mugoša has more than two decades of professional experience in clinical medicine, clinical pharmacology, academia, and the regulation of medicines and medical devices. She began her career in clinical practice, working in emergency medical services and as a specialist in internal medicine at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, which provided a strong practical foundation for her later scientific and regulatory work.
Throughout her professional development, she specialized in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, earned her Master’s and PhD degrees in Medical Sciences, and built an academic career as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montenegro. In parallel, she has been actively involved for many years in the education of healthcare and regulatory professionals across the region.
Key Contributions
As a long-standing leader and expert in clinical trials and the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of medicines, Dr. Mugoša has made a significant contribution to the development and modernization of Montenegro’s regulatory system for medicines, as well as its alignment with European Union standards. She actively participates in and leads numerous international projects.
Artistic Expression
Alongside science and medicine, Snežana Mugoša nurtures a strong artistic sensibility expressed through painting, firmly believing that we are healed not only by medicines, but also by art, love, and the beauty we recognize within ourselves and in the world around us. Art is her sanctuary, allowing her to see beauty, lightness, and play in everything. Within it, she is born, finds herself, and loses herself. Determined not to seek another world, she finds herself in this one—bathing her soul in colors and sharing it with others through paintings that remind us that the meaning of life lies in love.

Snežana Mugoša serves as the Director of the Institute for Medicines and Medical Devices of Montenegro and is recognized as a leading expert in the fields of medicines regulation, clinical
pharmacology, and public health. Through her work, she contributes to the development of a safe, effective, and modern healthcare system, guided by a clear vision of scientific excellence, professional responsibility, and service to society.
